The Finance Department is overseen by the Commissioner of Revenue and Finance, Maury Blumberg.  It is a multi-task department responsible for all financial operations of the City as regulated by the State of New Jersey.  The Finance Department maintains books and records of all financial transactions, processes all payrolls, claims and demands against the City and controls all expenditures to ensure that budget appropriations are not exceeded.  Cash management plans are developed and maintained for the City and additionally, the preparation of the annual budget originates within this department.  All services are performed in house except for the outsourcing of services for payroll processing.
