2026 & 2027 Ice Cream Vending Services Notice to Bidders

CITY OF MARGATE

NOTICE OF SEALED BID

OF A BEACH VENDING LICENSE

 FOR THE 2026 SEASON AND 2027 SEASON

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Margate shall conduct sealed bid opening on March 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Prevailing Time. Sealed bids will be received by the Margate City Clerk. The bid opening is commenced in Municipal Building, 9011 Winchester Avenue, Margate, New Jersey for the award of ONE EXCLUSIVE LICENSE to sell water, and ice cream related products on the City of Margate Beaches between and inclusive of Coolidge Avenue and Fredericksburg Avenue for the 2026 summer season (base bid) commencing on May 1, 2026 and terminating on October 1, 2026, for the 2026 summer season (alternate bid 1) commencing May 1, 2027 and terminating October 1, 2027, and for the 2027 Season. This license is not applicable to street vending. THE MINIMUM BID IS $50,000.00.  The successful bidder is required to make full payment of the difference between the final bid amount and the $20,000 deposit no later than April 30, 2026 for the 2026 season.  The City of Margate reserves the right to adjourn or cancel the bid without prior notice and to reject any and all bids and to extend by Resolution each season.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT VETERANS ARE PERMITTED, IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEW JERSEY STATE LAW, TO VEND WATER, ICE CREAM AND ICE CREAM PRODUCTS, IN NON-MOTORIZED VEHICLES, AT THE BEACH BLOCK STREET ENDS OF THE CITY OF MARGATE HOWEVER UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE ARE THEY PERMITTED TO ENTER THE BEACH.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that in order to be eligible to bid, each bidder may send or hand deliver by bidder or his agent to the City Clerk’s Office prior to Bid opening and must post a deposit in the form of a certified check in the amount of $20,000.00 made payable to the City of Margate.  The deposits of the unsuccessful bidders shall be returned immediately. Under no circumstances shall interest be due or payable to any bidder.  The Resolution authorizing the bid opening contains additional terms and conditions which are incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
