Bayfront Improvement Project

The City of Margate is beginning the next phase of construction to the Amherst Avenue Bulkhead, with work scheduled to start in November 2019. The project will feature replacement of approximately 1,250 linear feet of existing timber bulkhead from the Longport/Margate border. Completion of this project is anticipated for May 2020.

Additional improvements to the Bayfront will be made following these phases of the bulkhead project. A promenade, decorating lighting, benches, trach receptacles, ADA access and parking are all part of the Bayfront’s future. Our community and residents will be able to enjoy the waterfront, greater access to the Bayfront, and additional town-wide events! View the release.
