October Monthly Recap:Margate City Fire Department Hires It's Third Female FirefighterDid you hear the big news? The Margate City Fire Department hired it's third female firefighter this September. October was National Fire Prevention WeekThis October, the Margate City Fire Department participated in National Fire Prevention Week by welcoming Ross School's Pre-K classes - learning all about fire safety and getting tours of the firetrucks. Throughout Fire Prevention Week, the Margate City Fire Department also visited Tighe School, the Jewish Community Center, the Margate Community Church, Playgroups Plus and the Margate Senior Citizens Pavilion. Margate Recycling InspectionsACUA and Margate Public Works teamed up for a recycling inspection program to help educate local residents about recycling contamination. The team worked together to tag containers where recycling contaminants were left. Over time, the project improved the quality of Margate's recycling by decreasing contamination by 20%.
