Overview

Margate has adopted the commission form of city government. There are three commission seats, which are elected during a non-partisan at-large election.

Each commission seat is for a 4-year concurrent term. The Mayor is then selected from among the elected Commissioners by a vote between them and assigned to the office by resolution.
